Meet the Team!

Crystal Ponto

After teaching English for 26 years to students who had been expelled from high school and then deciding to retire and open a bookstore, Crystal has mastered three things: patience, sarcasm, and the ability to spot bad grammar from across a parking lot. She is approximately 5'2" of pure chaos, powered by coffee, curly hair, and strong opinions about books. When she’s not recommending novels, she’s probably making someone laugh against their will.

The shop has books, stationery, and decorative items on display, with a colorful wall mural in the background. There are signs promoting book-related activities and prices, and a sign indicating free vintage book marks.

Sue Keegan

Standing approximately three feet taller than her business partner (give or take), Sue brings volume, honesty, and energy to the bookstore. She works for Big I Insurance as Director of Education by day, which means she somehow spends her professional life explaining insurance and still remains funny. Known for “telling it like it is,” Sue can recommend a great book, call out a bad one, and debate basketball statistics, all in the same conversation.

Sales Associate

Ada DeOrdio

Somehow, we roped Ada into joining our team, and she did it willingly. We are so happy to have her on our bookshop journey. Ada is a student at Marcellus High School, a multi-sport athlete, and a book enthusiast. She recently served as a student representative in the Village of Marcellus’ application for the New York Forward Grant, which our village won and will be receiving $4.5 million to better our community. We do not know how this girl has enough hours in the day.

Tawanda is the righter of wrongs and queen beyond compare of the bookshop. She is older and has better insurance than most, and she will help you with whatever you need! Often seen in fun costumes, she has been a new, but great addition to our team.
