We are always excited to hear from local authors and truly admire the passion, creativity, and dedication that goes into writing and publishing a book!

Because of our limited shelf space and carefully curated inventory, we are only able to consider titles that align with the overall genres and themes of our shop and customer community. Submissions are reviewed based on how well they fit within our current collection and customer interests.

All local author inquiries should be submitted via email to Crystal at thatswhatshereadbooks@gmail.com. To help us review submissions as efficiently as possible, we kindly ask that requests not be made by phone. Please include your name, contact information, a brief summary of your book, and information on where/how your book can be purchased or sourced. We do not purchase books from Amazon. You are welcome to send us a copy to 16 E Main St Marcellus, NY 13108 or drop a copy off at the shop. We also do not work on consignment.

It may take some time for us to review your book and determine if it is a good fit. Please allow us 4-6 weeks for review.

If we believe your book may be a good fit for the shop, we will reach out via email with additional details regarding next steps. While we wish we could support every author, please understand that we may not be able to move forward with all submissions.
